Lithium Exploration in Sulphur Springs, Texas

Bright Star Exploration in Sulphur Springs, TX

Bright Star Exploration is actively exploring for lithium resources in and around Cumby, Texas. From electric vehicle mobility to renewable energy storage, lithium is a key ingredient to America’s growing need for secure, reliable and low-cost energy. Bright Star is helping secure a domestic supply of this critical mineral for American manufacturing and national defense and build an American energy future that is independent of foreign raw materials.

Our company has a close connection to Sulphur Springs, which was originally named Bright Star, Texas. This name serves as a commitment to local engagement, economic growth and responsible resource development. While our parent company, Galvanic Energy, holds a strong national presence, Bright Star is uniquely focused on partnering with the citizens and stakeholders of Sulphur Springs, and the surrounding communities in the Smackover lithium belt, to bring cutting-edge lithium exploration, development and production to the region.

What We Do: Environmentally Responsible and Sustainable Lithium Exploration

Bright Star’s exploration and development efforts are focused on discovering lithium resources in deep subsurface brine reservoirs that are typically associated with oil and gas formations. The specific geologic formation below Sulphur Springs is known as the Smackover Formation, which is more than 2 miles below the surface and has no direct link to potable drinking water aquifers in the region. The Smackover is a highly porous limestone that doesn’t require fracture stimulation, also known in the oil and gas industry as fracking, to access or liberate the
lithium-rich brine from this formation.

Utilizing proven drilling, casing and production techniques used in the oil and gas industry, saltwater containing lithium can be pumped to the surface, where the lithium can be separated through an innovative process called direct lithium extraction (DLE).

In summary, our process is:

  • Safe

  • Efficient

  • Quiet

  • Requires very little surface area

We understand your land is valuable and important to you, so we are committed to environmental best practices and will work with you to ensure our equipment and operations are clean and do not distract from the natural beauty of the landscape.

Why Lease Your Land?

Leasing or selling your land or minerals to Bright Star Exploration could be a great opportunity for you. You will receive a lease bonus when you sign a contract with us. And you will earn passive income by receiving royalty payments as lithium is extracted and sold, similar to oil and gas production.

Additionally, there’s very little surface impact to your land. By leasing your land, you’ll also be playing a key role in supporting clean energy efforts and reducing America’s reliance on foreign lithium. Plus, as with any successful partnership, Bright Star purposefully ensures all lease agreements are clear, fair, and easy to understand—so you, as our partners, will know what to expect. A Texas lithium lease is a smart way to earn income while helping power a more sustainable American energy future.

Is My Property a Good Fit For Land Leasing?

To determine if your land is a strong candidate, there are a few key factors to consider.

Land Acreage

If your tract is within our area of interest, there is no tract too small for us to lease. If you would like to find out if your land is within our area of interest, we encourage you to contact us for more information.

Contiguous Land

If your land is contiguous — meaning it is interconnected rather than multiple parcels spread across different areas — you have a higher likelihood of lithium development. Consolidated land allows for more efficient exploration and development.

Mineral Ownership Rights

Owning the surface of your land does not necessarily mean you own the minerals beneath it. If you’re unsure about your mineral rights, our team can help you determine whether you qualify.

Why Sulphur Springs? A Prime Location for Lithium Exploration

The Sulphur Springs area (and all of Hopkins County) is located atop a geologic reservoir called the Smackover Formation, which is known to contain varying concentrations and quantities of lithium. Studies show that the potential for finding ideal concentrations of lithium is favorable, although actual reserves are currently unknown and additional exploration work is required to prove the economic viability of the Smackover Formation in this region.

Sulphur Springs’ rich history as an energy production hub and a bridge to energy futures makes it a perfect location for lithium production and supply chain development. It’s a place where history, technology, and a bright energy future all come together.

Our Commitment: Responsible & Innovative Resource Development

Bright Star Exploration is devoted to utilizing cutting-edge technology and techniques developed by our parent company, Galvanic Energy, and its partners to discover and develop lithium resources safer, smarter and more efficiently.

We focus on building fair and transparent partnerships with landowners. Our clear, honest lease agreements ensure you’ll always know exactly what to expect.
